Lawson...where family values and pride are #1
November 8, 2017
I wake up this morning even more excited about the future of Lawson. Once again, you the citizens have spoken and put your trust in myself, the city council and our city leadership by overwhelming voting YES to the sale of our city sewer and water. This naturally was not a decision that was taken lightly and there was over 10 months of background work that was done reviewing this strategic initiative to sell our water and sewer. Partnering with Missouri American Water will bring significant stability to the future of our sewer and water with a company that has the scope and scale to address our current and future needs.
This vote of confidence by you our citizens will allow the city to continue to focus on existing infrastructure needs such as streets and storm water. We made great progress in addressing numerous streets in 2017 and intend to continue this in 2018 and beyond to address all streets in Lawson as well as numerous storm water projects which have been identified and will begin to be addressed in 2018. Finally, with the sale of our sewer and water, we will be able to focus on many new opportunities that we had outlined in the recent town hall meetings such as activities for all ages, further expansion of the city lake project, commercial opportunities, and continued residential growth. We will focus our efforts on the city goals that were developed out of the comprehensive plan to invest in opportunities that bring a financial return to Lawson.
It is a great day in Lawson and I along with the entire city staff and alderman say “Thank You”
